Wrestling team tackles senior night

The unmatched anticipation of senior night excited these four senior wrestlers.They have looked forward to this night for a long time coming. The wrestlers made sure that the anticipation resulted in a win and a night to remember. 

Zam Tckhovrebov, Joshua Strong, Gavin Legualt, and Scottie Williams are the four seniors. They all have a special story about their wrestling careers 

“The thing I will remember most about wrestling is the will to never give up,” Legualt said. 

The atmosphere on Thursday night was incredible. The team appreciated all the support they got from their peers and teammates. Zam enjoyed the time he got to spend with the team and coaches on the night dedicated to him and the other seniors. 

Legault reminisces on his past wrestling teams and he believes that this is the best one he has been a part of. The bonds these guys hold are unbreakable, and they strive to lift one another up. 

“I have been a varsity wrestler since my freshman year and I have never been a part of a team that is so excited for one another’s victories,” Legault said. 

Everyone on the team has something that they took away from senior night. Even the younger guys. Sophomore, Michael Farnham will remember the time he got to spend with the guys he looks up to most. 

The Knights wrestling team won 60 to 18 against Goshen, and 41 to 33 against Badin. 

“We were all very proud of our performance, winning both matches for the seniors,” Freshman Gavin Crooks said. 

Thursday night was an unforgettable night for the seniors along with the underclassmen. The culture of the wrestling team continues to shine. 

The wrestling team’s success this year is among some of the best over the years. Zam sits at  10 wins away from 100 career wins, and he hopes to make a run at state.  

“We all hope to continue our success for the remainder of the season and accomplish the individual goals we have,” Strong said.
