Tara Fears moved up to 13th with a 57.88, in the 100 fly.
And freshman Megan Sichterman, at her first-ever state meet, finished 4th in the 100-meter fly with a 55.50 and moved up to 10th in the 500 with a 4:58.46. Kings Athletic Director Phil Poggi said Sichterman “broke that elusive 5:00 mark” and set yet another Kings High School record.
Kings High School freshman swimming phenom Megan Sichterman leads the Walk of Champions Thursday morning. The school drum-line escorted State Swim Meet qualifiers through the high school hallways as students emerged from their classrooms to cheer on the team. Sichterman, who turns 15 next week and is pictured above with teammate Jimmy Koloseike, set three new individual KHS swim team records last week at district competitions. Other state qualifiers are Ben Matheus, Tara Fears, Alex Allee, and Kate Etter.
