Flooded in Controversy

Noah floods the box office with controversy from both sides of the religious fence.

Valerie Hamilton

V. Hamilton

Noah revolves around a character named Noah (Russell Crowe), as the title suggests, who one day is spoken to by God and is told that the Earth has gone astray and it is no longer good, so there would be a flood coming to eradicate the bad in the word, but he could be saved, along with his family if he followed his orders, created an arc for them and animals, collecting (or letting the animals climb aboard) and allowing them to mate and reproduce in the new world when it is fixed.

The boat works very well, but is the boat really safe for them?

I can understand the controversy around this movie. The story is not exactly as the Bible tells it, but remember the whole tale is about a page-and-a-half long in the Bible, so of course it won’t be exactly 100% like the Bible states.

It is also not what atheists wanted, either: it is not criticizing religion.

Put simply, the movie is telling a story, adding more action to it, and relaying it with beautiful visual effects, but it is still the same core values as what is stated to be true in the Bible. There is a message that Christians will like.

Other than that controversy, I believe that the movie was well done. Russell Crowe did a great job as acting as Noah, along with the rest of the cast involved. The special effects were pretty good, especially the rain part of it. I really don’t have much to complain about, except that it may have been a bit too long. It is worth a watch though, as long as you don’t fall into the “controversial” atmosphere of it.

Captain America

The Winter Soldier emerges into theater with good service.

Captain America (Chris Evans) lives in DC now, after the Battle of New York which took place in the last movie. He is still trying to learn how to live in society as he is not from this time period. He tries his best to learn everything as he works with the agency S.H.I.E.L.D. This agency is called in to work on a ship that was rumored to be holding the suspicious activity, that may actually be occurring inside the own agency.

This movie is very entertaining. The plot is a bit different than what you would expect a superhero movie. There are twists and turns you would not expect to be there. The actors also have a good time at doing their job, it looks like they had fun, and that translated into also a good acted movie. I think the special effects for the most part worked pretty well, but not the best out there. This movie is entertaining from the plot alone, to be honest though. Marvel movies are always well done, but are they making too many as of now? Maybe, but if they keep making well made movies like this, then they should be fine.
