After hiring 500, The Beach ready for summer
The 2014 season of The Beach will be its second opening under its new management, Adventures Holding LLC, and park officials say they’ve got some new attractions ready for the new season.
Since the company has taken over the water park, they’ve made efforts to help preserve the atmosphere peopel are accustomed to, while adding some new features, said Natalie Dunlap, Adventures Holding marketing director.
“When our company bought the park it was going downhill,” Dunlap said. “It needed to be revamped and refreshed.”
And thats exactly what they did. A new heated wave pool, zip-line and slides have been added for 2014, along with many refurbished rides.
“Our main goal is to preserve the little piece of backyard paradise the beach is to so many people,” Dunlap said. “We want to make sure that a trip to The Beach is enjoyable for everyone.”
With The Beach being in such a close proximity to Kings Islands water park, Soak City, the park does face some competition. Dunlap said they do not worry about Soak City at all.
“At The Beach there are barely any lines, real palm trees and places not only for kids to hang out but also adults,” she said. “The Beach is its own destination.”
This season, to keep up with the steady inflow of customers, The Beach hired over 500 employees – inlcuding some students from Kings looking for summer work. Jobs range from lifeguards to food services to management.
