Men’s golf team misses districts by inches.

The men’s golf team lined up by the practice green getting ready for the ECC championships.

The teams had hopes of advancing after playing well two weeks ago at the ECC championships. In that match Senior, Andrew Sharp, shot sub-par with a 70 through 18 holes, and Junior, Garrett Hogan, helped out the team shooting a 77 through 18 holes.

“I’m so happy with how my team and I played, we got an early lead and stayed in front for the remainder of the match, by playing smart, and making the easy plays,” said Sharp.

Their success in The ECC match, didn’t correlate to the Sectionals Tournament for the Knights. Hogan thought he could have done more to help out his team in one of their final matches.

“I’m not pleased with my performance, I shot an 82, I three-putt four times, and I hit a ball out of bounds, when there could’ve been a turning point,” said Hogan.

Although Hogan didn’t particularly enjoy the way he played, he still managed to tally two birdies, and he was close to holing out from 120 yards from the pin.

The top four teams advanced, and the Knights finished sixth, ending the teams season.

“Thank you to Andrew for being a great mentor, and leader on this team, I also want to thank Carson, and Colin for being great teammates, and great friends. I wish them all the best of luck for years to come,” said Hogan.
