She didn’t know the difference between regular and white peaches before she bought a bunch of the white ones to try at the fresh produce stand at the flea market. Summer is primetime for peaches, so she expected good things. Apparently, she was supposed to let them sit for a while before cutting them open, but of course, that’s not what she did. The texture was really weird, and they tasted like styrofoam. The regular peaches she bought were delicious though, they always are.

Claudia McGeorge loves the random nature of the flea market. It’s kind of like Target, the flea market tells her what she needs. She could go in looking for fresh produce, and while inside decide to take up cycling, or maybe she suddenly needs a new wax melt. The possibilities are endless.

“I love the flea market, especially during the summertime when they’ve got all their fresh produce like peaches, nectarines, and green beans.” McGeorge said.

Traders World, the popular flea market, is one of McGeorge’s favorite places to shop. She goes there every summer with her younger sister Olivia to look for fresh produce. She also likes to look around at what else the flea market has to offer.

“I think my perfect day would be spent at the flea market with my dad and sister. I love going there because everything is always super affordable,” McGeorge said.

McGeorge and Olivia are best friends. They love spending time together shopping, going out to eat, or just being in class together. They go to Target at least once a week, sometimes to buy something they actually need, and other times just to look around. They also enjoy going to Ulta to look at makeup and smell all the perfumes

“We’re really close. Closer than most siblings I think. We hang out together all the time. She really is my best friend,” Olivia said.

McGeorge is a bargain shopper; she loves looking in the sale or clearance sections of stores to see what she can find. She likes to go to Kroger after holidays like Valentine’s Day or Easter to buy the candy that was put on sale for her mom to bake with.

“We always go buy up all the Reese’s hearts after Valentine’s Day because she bakes with them year-round. It doesn’t matter what shape it’s in because it’s being put in some baked goods,” McGeorge said.

One of McGeorge’s favorite parts of shopping is the cool temperatures inside stores. If there’s one thing she doesn’t like, it’s being too hot. She won’t be found in Traders World, or outside in general if it’s over 80 degrees.

“A perfect day is that nice 75-degree day with the wind blowing in your hair because first of all, if it’s 90 degrees I’m not stepping outside,” McGeorge said.

McGeorge’s sarcasm and quick wit got her voted ‘most likely to become a stand-up comedian’ by her fellow seniors. There is never a dull moment with McGeorge, whether that be in class or lost in the depths of the flea market.

“She’s like if you turn serotonin into a human being. She single-handedly makes every class better. She’s always all smiles and we’re constantly on the floor laughing, sometimes getting in trouble for it,” classmate Sophie Miller said.

McGeorge is able to relate to anyone she talks to; she’s easy to connect with. She carries herself through life with a positive attitude, and does her best to make sure everyone she’s with is having a great time.

“Claudia’s always able to make people laugh. She’s just so funny,” Olivia said.

McGeorge is also known to carry around a large bag with her. This bag is always filled with anything someone might need: tampons, pain medication, and even snacks, in case someone’s blood sugar is low. McGeorge believes it’s always best to be prepared for any situation.

“If I’m going to be deserted on an island, I want to be deserted with Claudia and her bag because I’ll be sure to survive,” Miller said.
