Kings High School celebrated its Aqua Knights swim team on Thursday with a Walk of Champions. The swimmers qualified at recent district competitions and are now headed to the state championships in Canton Ohio.
In the process of qualifying for state, team members also set several new records for the school and for the meet itself. Sophomore swimmer Megan Sichterman set the school and meet record for the 100-meter fly, and the school record for the 500-meter free, while sophomore Ally Carlin set the school record for the 200-meter free. Senior Jimmy Koloseike set the school record in the 100-meter back.
The relay teams also set records for Kings. The team consisting of Senior Tara Fears, Corinne Baber, Shannon Jelley and Megan Sichterman set the 200-meter free relay record. A second team consisting of Fears, Jelley, Carlin, and Sichterman set the team record for the 400-meter free.
