Some KHS students decided to give back this holiday season by participating in Lebanon’s annual Holiday Sleigh Bell Contest.
Students from the KHS Art Club spent about a month polishing and decorating a 6.5-inch sleigh bell in various holiday themes. Once completed, the bells were placed on display at the Picture This art gallery in Lebanon, and opened for bids. The bells were also displayed during the Lebanon Holiday Carriage Festival.
KHS Art Club adviser Angie Guilfoyle said 100% of all of the profits go directly to benefit the Bridge Riding for the Disabled of Warren County. Guilfoyle has overseen this project every year for almost a decade.
“I did talk to Becky Gebhart, the gallery owner, and she said that this year was the best year they have ever had,” Guilfoyle said on Tuesday. “They were able to raise $3800 for Bridge Riding for the Disabled. She wanted to let me know that she couldn’t have helped raise that amount without the KHS art club and my Painting II class participating. It always feels good to hear that all their hard work paid off and will help such a great local organization.”
