On Tuesday, January 8th, the Knights headed to Turpin to play the league leading Spartans. With Turpin having the top two scorers in the ECC, the Knights defense did a great job shutting them down to only 38 points in a hard fought overtime loss.

On Friday, January 11th, the Knights played on their home court against the Anderson Redskins. They scorched the Redskins with a 53-41 win, with help of senior Jakob Peters 14 points in the first quarter.

Jakob Peters says, “I felt a little nervous going into the game. There were a lot of people there. Once I started making all the shots, I started to get very confident. The team’s mentality was to just to go out there and score any way possible, whether that was to give me the ball or have me set a screen and get my teammates open to score.”

The Women’s Varsity basketball team lost a close game at home last Monday, January 7th to Lebanon by a score of 60-50.

Lebanon started the game shooting very well from the floor, taking a 23-5 lead over Kings after one quarter.

The Lady Knights never rolled over despite the 18-point deficit, scoring 15 points in the second quarter to Lebanon’s 12. The Lady Knights ended the half down 35-20.

In the second half, the Lady Knights kept on battling, winning the third and fourth quarters, but ultimately it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.

Junior guard Summer Bush led the way for the Lady Knights with 12 points, hitting 3 of her 6 three point field-goal attempts.

Senior forward Carolyn Bruns added 10 points, going 5 for 8 from the field. Bruns also pulled down six rebounds.

Senior guard Jordyn Rhodes led the Lady Knights on the defensive end, grabbing a season-high 11 rebounds and recording 5 steals.

The Lady Knights look to get back on track on Monday, January 14th when they travel to Milford to play the Lady Eagles, and again on Wednesday when they travel to Loveland to play a very talented Lady Tigers team. The team will finish the week with a home game on Saturday against Withrow. Varsity tips off at 2:00 PM.
