After a gas leak forced a full evacuation of Columbia Intermediate School Thursday morning, Kings Junior High found themselves with some unexpected guests. The entire Columbia student body – about 600 students – was bused to the junior high to wait out the leak repair. By 11 a.m. Thursday, fire inspectors had declared Columbia safe to reoccupy. The Columbia students were first treated to lunch at the junior high, then headed back to school. Kings officials said a custodian had smelled the leak, and the school was evacuated. No one was injured.
