Jerod Allen-Metzger

Kings 2013 graduate and cinematographer Jerod Allen was only a junior at Kings when he got his first gig in the videography business.

Allen had not been interested or involved in the field before he took Kings’ videography class.

“When my good friend asked me if I would like to shoot her sister’s wedding for her I wasn’t hesitant to say ‘HECK YA!’” Allen said.

Allen experimented on his brother’s wedding and when it turned out great, through word of mouth, he got his first gig, and then another. It just kept growing.

Brent Allen, Jerod’s father and Kings Junior High social studies teacher, says that Jerod did it all himself. He started the business by himself and has continued to love it.

“He is a very driven young man,” Brent said.

Jerod says that what once started as a hobby, has turned into a passion.

Allen is currently 19, working a job at Sam’s Club, and is a freshman in Ohio University. He is studying to receive a Masters degree in film.

Although many people hire professional photographers to shoot pictures of their weddings, Allen claims this is not enough.

“With photographs, you can remember what visually happened, but with a film, you can really go back in the moment of it all.”

Allen says that their package deal is designed to accomodate any type of wedding. With JAZ Production’s work people get to re-live their whole wedding experience.

“Hear it all again, see it all again, feel it all again.”
