Reddick Fails to Rock

Valerie Hamilton
V. Hamilton

My name is Valerie Hamilton and I will be the movie reviewer for this year’s Knight Times. I have been writing Knight Times movie reviews for 3 years. I love movies, and I am very particular. I look at the finer details of a film such as the special effects, screenwriting, and casting, instead of just the acting. I hope to do my best in creating good movie reviews and advising you on what to see and what not to see.

Reddick

Reddick crawls into theaters trying to redeem the last few movie flops in the franchise, but it fails to wow.

Reddick revolves around the self-titled character, Reddick (Vin Deisel), who got left on a planet full of all kinds of creatures ready to kill. He thought he was going to be left on his home planet, but was tricked. A storm is approaching that will carry some creatures that will be deadly. He has to make an escape, but the question is, how? As the story goes along, you will find that there are not only creatures after Reddick, but also humans.

This was a horrible movie. The acting was pretty bad, most of what they were saying showed almost no emotion whatsoever, with most of the lines being laughable. The storyline was a good concept, but with the horrible special effects, it just became annoying and hard to watch. The only reason you should watch this movie is if you want a good laugh with a bunch of friends making fun of it on a rental DVD – for free.

The World’s End

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFo7eJR2cvc&w=560&h=315]

The World’s End has hit the theater with a laugh and a gasp.

This movie revolves around an alcoholic man, Gary Kings (Simon Pegg) who misses his college friends. He wants to go back on the next big adventure, and return to a project that they did as they were in college, going from  bar to bar trying to make it to the last bar, The World’s End. During this time, the world goes into chaos, with robots going on an attack in an almost world  They keep going on  trying to defeat them while hitting the final bar. This movie is actually really funny and packs a punch. I thought the comedy style fit it well. It really gives a kick back to Shaun of the Dead by the same screenwriter. It has the form of comedy that leans toward very inappropriate side of comedy, but at the same time it is not the point where it is fart comedy that verges into stupidity. The group also has really good chemistry with one another. You can really tell that they have been friends for years. They have this love for each other that brings you into the story. Overall, this movie is a great movie, that has decent comedy, and is a good watch for a laugh.
