‘Big Matt’: 32 offers and counting …

Sichterman

Kings has had some great athletes through the years. And some great college players. But none in the history of Kings Athletics were as sought-after as junior ‘Big Matt’ Sichterman, who (so far) has received 32 offers from Division 1 football programs highlighted by Michigan State, Nebraska, and Northwestern.

It’s quite an impressive list …

Michigan State
Boston College
Bowling Green
Cincinnati …
Colorado State
Dartmouth
Duke
Harvard
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa State
Kent State
Kentucky
Marshall
Maryland
Memphis
Miami
Nebraska
Northwestern
Ohio
Oregon State
Pittsburgh
Princeton
Purdue
Rutgers
Syracuse
Toledo
Wake Forest
Vanderbilt
West Virginia
Yale

With the possibility of 3 additional schools, Sichterman could have 35 offers soon.
He is currently talking with Penn State and expects them to offer soon. If they do, Ohio State and Stanford could also be late offers.

Just a few months ago this whole process was just beginning and Sichterman had about seven offers. At the time, even seven seemed like a lot. But then the offers started piling up, with Sichterman receiving offers nearly every day from another high-profile university. At this point, Sichterman could go to school in almost any part of the country that he wants.

“It’s been a blessing and a lot of fun to get to go out around the country and see all these schools,” he said.

Sichterman recently visited Michigan State and plans to visit Nebraska soon. He has his list narrowed down, but is not ready to give details at this point. After all, he still has an entire year left as a Knight.

“Our team is going to be very good,” Sichterman said of next season. “I think we have a strong defense and a lot of weapons returning on offense.”

Sichterman is the team’s only returning offensive lineman. Four of the five lineman graduate this year. But Sichterman loves the challenge. With already two years of varsity experience under his belt, he can serve as a great mentor to the younger guys.

“It’s going to be great to help develop a good offensive line for another dominant season,” he said.
