Columbia Intermediate School is hosting the most exciting Kings Halloween event of the year, Spooktacular 2015. This year’s event is getting a spooky new look, bringing back some of the most popular activities and adding a lot of new things our students and families are going to love.
Spooktacular will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, from 6-9 p.m. at CIS. Admission is free for the entire family and organizers want everyone to come dressed up for the costume contest.
Tickets will be sold for the events, including the Haunted Maze, fortune teller and tattoo parlor. Families can visit the Spooky Bakery, the Dance Room or catch Twilight Zone episodes playing on the big screen.
There will also be a “casket” raffle (basket raffle). All proceeds from the raffle and the event will go towards the school’s PTO for programs such as Achievement Bootcamp, DARE and Kids Club.
Erin Deutsch Is the event coordinator for Spooktacular. “This is my first time running Spooktacular. I am really hoping to make it as good or even better than the previous years.”
Deutsch said the event needs volunteers. Students who volunteer can earn community service hours. To sign up go to www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0A49A5AD2CA64-20151. Volunteers will need to dress up as well and there will be special “parts” assigned.
