The Kings High School fall play, “Selfie,” opens this week with eight shows.Savannah Donaldson

It’s senior year and problems are mounting for a group of high school students as they prepare for the future. Facing bullies, parents, pressure, sickness, and their own self-judgment, the characters search for ways to stand out. As they document their year, one click at a time, they come to realize life is not about what other people see — it’s about the pictures they have of themselves.

With the story involving students with issues anyone in high school could face, KHS teacher Pete Moore, the shows director, decided for the first times to take this show and have a special performance for some of the junior high school students before the show officially opens up to the public on Thursday evening.

“They’ll be entering this high school adventure soon,” said of Junior High students. The issues these characters are dealing with often start in middle school and junior high as we try to find a balance between being a kid and being an adult,” Moore said.

Selfie opens up this week on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m (yellow cast). and 8:30 p.m. (blue cast). Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.(red cast) and 8:30 p.m. (yellow cast); then twice on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. (blue cast), 3:30 p.m. (yellow cast), 7 p.m.(blue), and 8:30 p.m. (red cast).

Ticket information below, includes ticket bundles to see all three “Selfie” casts. Tickets will be sold at the door one hour before each show. Tickets cost $5. Seating is limited.
